I recently scooped up a 35mm underwater Reefmaster point n' shoot... here are a few pics from the first roll of black and white taken when the spring water was just warming up!

Photographing Lindsey and Tate was a delight. We went to the tip of Wrightsville Beach and got swept up by sunny rays, waves and laughter. This loving couple is bound to have a beautiful future.

I love when all the pieces come together, especially for on-location shooting. This shoot with Filipino artist Victoria Lambino (http://viavictoria.tumblr.com/) from NYC had all the pieces of the triangle- a striking model, beautiful light, and a sweet location at the retro-styled Moran Motel along Carolina Beach Rd in Wilmington, NC.  True. Love.

Technicolor laces in my sneakers so you know what, this is Beth and she is super fab. It's not often that I'm taken out to dinner by 6 well-dressed charismatic men. Nor is it often that I stumble across a band who can pull off playing cover songs with the same successful ease it takes one to pull on some socks. Meet The Shakedown- a full 6 piece band based out of Raleigh, NC. These guys are sharp, talented, intelligent and ready to rock your socks off. Rather--- she loves acting in them. Wilmington, NC has a hot film industry and actress Jaqueline Martini is gearing up for the next entourage of zombies, blood, guts and broken window panes to come to town. Here's a glimpse of our photo session to capture her next headshot... she would make a gorgeous vamp don't you think?

Lois is an incredibly photographic pony. Here are a few shots in her new poncho... she's a real Locita this pup. I think she liked being out in downtown Wilmington Sunday strolling with Katharine Pelzer.

Photographing pets is a delight... photographing Lois- a mixed Australian Shepherd and Lab with undeniable human-like qualities- was a blast! We discovered that along with napping in the coziest spots and chasing squirrels she has a special love for American Apparel Viscose Tees...and this pony definitely knows how to rock them.

7 miles beyond the end of the road of North Carolina’s Outer Banks a new road begins. Each rubber tire lets out about 20psi of air and as a result every warm breathing body absorbs about 20x its normal amount of oxygen. The air is bigger, the ocean is wider and the road is defined only to the tide and the grooves of tire tracks already delved into the sand from other 4wheel drive vehicles.  I had been TO the Outer Banks before, but I had never been INTO the Outer Banks… a little fact that speaks volumes in regards to the manner of which we as individuals absorb our own lives. Lucky for me, I also had a destination- a going away party for my friend Jeremy Diner whose family friends own 30 acres of playground on this tiny long lonely strip of land north of Kitty Hawk where wild ponies still roam.  This location, beyond the mannequin on a bicycle (a.k.a Adrian Parsons), now marks the most glorious goodbye party I have ever attended. Perhaps the 20 foot bonfire drew light away from the lonely truth that Jer was about to leave us for 2 years- but whatever it was, the energy was bright and free flowing at this corner pocket of the world on the eastern seaboard. Naturally carved campsites hung out in the low trees, lights burned, minds and bodies danced and the wild ponies caught the setting sun in their manes to keep them warm till morning.
If you can ever carve out the chance to wander off, roaming where the ponies still roam is a fine idea indeed.
